Sunday Smorgasbord-A Week Recap

I'm linking up with Fab-U-lous in First again this Sunday to help keep me on the blogging track. My goal is to be better about posting and these little "linkies" keep the ideas flowin!

My daughter's costume for a friends Superhero Themed birthday party. She was suppose to come up with a super hero name and costume that was personality appropriate and then be able to explain it. She was the Silver Bullet because her initials are ag which is Silver on the periodic table. She is also a runner and so she is... "faster than a silver bullet."  She came up with the idea all on her own and I thought it was very clever. We used old costumes as accessories- zoro mask and dracula cape with a ducktape S on it.

HIGH FIVE SULLEY! Finally saw Monsters University movie with my mom and my kids.  I know, I know, it's been out a month but I've been busy and really wanted to see it. Very cute movie by the way.

What teacher doesn't love chocolate??  Okay I know there are some because a rare few at our school don't like it. I should say VERY RARE few. Every teacher meeting with food there is always chocolate. Chocolate is my weak spot. I already ate the Hershey chocolate bar in the gift I got from the Indiana Blogger meet up...Thanks Heather!!  (I think it only lasted 2 days.) So do you know about DeBrand's chocolate? It is only in the area in Indiana where I live but they do have a website. Let me just say if you order you will not be disappointed!!  We went there after the movie for some Gelato (I got raspberry) and a few chocolates. Strawberry Rhubarb and Raspberry filling in dark chocolate. It's healthy right.  They have milk chocolate too.  Check out their website to see the many chocolates they have for sale. YUMMY in my tummy!!

I hope you don't get tired of me sharing apps because I'm always on the look out for good ones. I love photography!! There are so many awesome photography effect apps out there but I like the ones that give a unique look.

Popsicolor has many cool effects for your photos that make them look like a painting. I'm not sure I would use this in my classroom but it would be wonderful for Art class. I love it to give my photos the look of a painting. There are so many color choices and with the different effects you have endless options to make your photos look different. The painting effect DeBrand photo in the collage above was created from a regular photo similar to the one right underneath it with the Popsicolor app.  Doesn't it look like such a professional painting?

Swiss Days a big event for our area has many events to take part in during the weekend. I had my 25th classroom reunion during the weekend. Yes, I am getting old. It was a casual meet and greet with a few refreshments. The photo shows how many showed up. We graduated with around 100 in our class so I thought we had a pretty good turn out.  I still can't believe it's been 25 years since I've graduated. I've achieved so many of my goals that I had planned to do after high school: go to college, get married, become a teacher, and have children... I'd have to say it's been a pretty good 25 years!! I also went to a little animal show, a race that my children ran, and a concert at the town clock tower with my dad and my sister. My kids got 2nd and 5th place in their age groups and my daughter got her personal best 5K time 21.03.  My husband and I are looking forward to a great Cross Country season this fall!!
In case you missed it be sure to go back to yesterday's post for tons of back to school freebies from the Indiana Teachers Go Back to School Blog Hop.
